  STRATEGY TIP: Put a face on Armageddon victims.

  cultivating some level of friendship with clearly decent "worldly" people is a great way to get a jw to see the horrific nature of the official jw view of armageddon.

  it's so powerful that my wife says she doesn't believe jehovah will kill roughly 6 billion at armageddon.

  at the same time she somehow still believes the preaching work is "life saving".

  This is pure logic speaking here. It makes sense that a jw would be happy for someone paying their debt and being ready for a new life. It is also one less door to bang on. Reminds me of teh other story.....you know....The one where Christians are afraid of dying. I would think they would be glad to die and go meet their Maker. But sadly, they are all scared to die, well, lots of tehm anyways.

  Tired of the Hypocrisy

  When I was little I used to color in the dinosaurs on the inside covers of every bible I could find. I figured there was artwork in all the books, magazines and even on the bible, I should do my own. I developed a pretty good talent as a sketch artist during meetings. As time wore on, I would make fun of the elders' hairstyles, or rather the lack of any style. Then my knock-out gorgeous sister would reel in a new convert by telling them that they could only date her if they were jw's. So these poor saps were led to the slaughter by her good looks. Not even my incessent mocking could tear them away. During meetings, I would grab my sissy's book and draw a picture of her boyfriend and have the latest boyfriend in any set of dire circumstances. The funniest one came when I drew a picture of her boyfriend Robert. I never liked this creepy little turd so I called him FAGGY. * (I was only 16 and meant no offense to gays. I could have called him satan and it would have been offensive to the devil!!) Anyways, I drew this caricature of this gargoyle with a dildo in his ass and lipstick and wrote underneath it, "My Faggy" as if Sissy had drawn this abomination! Then I replaced her book under her seat and waited for the fun to start. About the 2nd page into the study the whole hall heard this girlish shriek...."EEEhhhh" not her....HIM! He hollered at her, you call me FAGGY TOO!!???

  I got up and ran away, since I could feel that hot Elbow of Death on its way! Laughing all the way outside as I heard everyone crack up! HA HA HA HA HA

  Wow! TV is stupid!

  i sat down to watch some tv today... our tv only pick up 3 channels.. and stuff worth watching is few and far between.

  it's amazing how much mindless drivel is being broadcasted.. .

  deal or no deal: where an overactive lunatic runs around the stage hyperventilating, while simultaniously showing off his/her amazing random-number-generator skills by choosing completely arbitrary numbers and winning money for it.

  When I was a kid we HAD NO TV! Seriously.......

  I was born in 1962 and for chunks of time we had no tv. My folks would hear at a meeting or assembly that tv was mind numbing or bad influence, so my dad would huck them all into the car and drive them to the dump. Then after about a year of no tv and months of no meetings at the kh, my mom would say that it was nuts to not have tv, so off we'd go to Penney's and get not one, not two, but three tv's, sometimes four of the mind numbing lit up boxes with a window into satan's world. Then the memorial would come up and we would be attending meetings again, and out would go the tv's. To the dump we go again. This cycle repeated itself three or four times during the 1970's. We had tv from the 1980's onward.

  i knew a few like that , the worst one was local congregation paedophile that had so much to say about others , when i look back now at some of the things he used to judge people for , what a damn cheek he had considering the things he had done that hadnt come out at that point in time.

  I have known several actually. One example comes from Sacramento, CA. Three elders held an ill-conceived judicial committee on a sister (my mom) who had been assaulted and raped. They refused to let me and my brother in to lend her support and they went over her like a Mack truck. Then they left her in limbo for six months. When my sis called the po he said he would contact my mom. He calls her on the phone and tells her, "You are disfellowshipped." The three elders involved got a visit from me on a sunday after the wt. I went in and asked them all to meet me in the little room. They said with mocking grins that they didn't have time for me, so I mentioned casually and calmly that they could accompany me now or I would carry them in one at a time. So they went. I asked them why they mistreated my mom like they did and one of them said it was their job. I told them all, to stay away from my mom and family. Out of respect for God's house they were safe, but if I saw any of them on the street, their ass was getting beaten. Well, the PO was removed for misconduct, the other two cheated on their wives and were df'd.

  The other lands north of Sacramento. This is the story of an idiotic service overlord with a carpet company and a penchant for wrestling with his brother and employees on the remnants......He had in his employ a couple of real simpletons. One of them was a dangerous pedophile and wife abuser. On this elder's advice and coersion my sister ran off to Reno agains my parent's wishes and married the pedophile/carpet layer/idiot with an elder for a boss. His nighttime bad advice cost him. His own daughter ran off to Reno with a biker and married him. She later told him that if it was good enough for the blank-family it was good enough for a Van *** too. He was later df'd for some sort of misconduct......

  let me start off by saying that i'm glad to know this support group and website is available.

  i decided to dissocaite myself four years ago.

  i actually emailed an author that wrote a book about her experience as jw and why she left.

  i can only think of one person who actually seemed to have "joy in her heart "on the min when i studied , and even the dubs used to hate being put with this person, it all seems so obvious now that it has nothing to do with a love for god , but doing whats expected of you

  Tired of the Hypocrisy

  When I was a kid I hated it.Being separated from my folks so they could work with the po or some other EXPERT. I did have fun with some of the other kids, since we would just go and knock and run away!! But that was only once in a while. Buuuuut I got baptized and took it seriously. I aux pioneered for several months off and on and had planned to go to beth-HELL. I even went to the field alone because no one else was going. Then the bs started to mount up and I had so much I could not take another bit of it and I lost my interest and zeal.

  No I did not.

  I confided once to someone my age about pornography after they asked if I had seen xyz photspread. So they were into porn too.Then the bastard went and told his po dad about my porn. So I learned at a young age to never trust a witness.

  I am glad some folks here had a good experience with theirs. My folks bought one back in the 1990s and it was awful. MAybe there have been some improvements......
